Alumni Association

More than twenty-five years after its birth, the Master Intellectual property law and ICTremains a training program of excellence, unquestionably one of the most accomplished and recognized in the field of intellectual property and information technology. This recognition reflects the success of a teaching team that has driven the professional success of some 500 graduates from all over the world. This is a clear indication of the high profile of the prestigious training program you have chosen.

The associatione-materiae, created on the initiative of the class of 2003, is open to all former students of the MasterCréationsImmatérielles, now the Master2D Droit de la propriété intellectuelle et TIC.

Its vocation is twofold:

  • promote the Master2D Intellectual Property and ICT;
  • promote the professional integration of graduates.

Its ambition is no less: to cultivate the excellence acquired and developed over so many years, to perpetuate it and deploy it further. That's the end of the story.

In terms of how, e-materiae intends totap into the remarkable potential offered by both Ercim's reputation and the visibility of the Master's program itself. This requires both an internal and external communication strategy.

The association's internal communications are designed to encourage cohesion between Master's graduates and promote their professional integration. In concrete terms, this means building up and maintaining a professional network of Master's graduates, which in turn enables us to communicate internship and job offers.

The association's external communications aim to preserve the image and success of the Master's program among professionals, academics and students. It is important that publicity for the Master's program and its activities (conferences, symposia, meetings, etc.) be based on well-developed communication media that are accessible to as many people as possible. In this respect, the completion of our e-materiae.net website is a priority.

As for human, financial and material resources, e-materia mustprovide them. This means electing the association's executive committee, whose members, assisted by each other, will be responsible for representing all students graduating from the Master's program, creating partnerships with recruiting organizations, and obtaining the funding essential to the association's development.

The objectives and the way to achieve them may seem ambitious given the current means of an association that is still in its infancy. That said,e-materia placesa great deal of hope in the students of each graduating class, and is convinced that they will demonstrate a generous willingness and exemplary motivation to promote their future diploma.

Alumni testimonials

Jérôme Ferrando

"Graduating in 2008-2009, I can now say that the training provided by the Master 2 Créations Immatérielles team, and the knowledge acquired during this year, have enabled me to succeed in my professional project of becoming an Industrial Property Attorney.

The fundamental knowledge I was given has proved essential to my day-to-day professional practice, and enables me to advise my Customers to the best of my ability every day."

Jean Raquin

The quality of the lecturers and the cross-disciplinary approach to the various intellectual property and information technology subjects covered during the year enabled me to acquire a solid body of knowledge that helped me enormously. After completing my end-of-year internship in an intellectual property law firm in Paris, I decided to re-enlist for a six-month fixed-term contract as a legal advisor for Gameloft, a video game publisher for which I had worked for two months before joining the University of Montpellier. Thanks to the experience I'd acquired, I was able to meet their expectations and they offered me a permanent contract, which I accepted. Then, in June, it was decided to send me to the company's Montreal studio for two years to manage intellectual property issues relating to games in production in North America. I've now been in Quebec for six months.
I wouldn't have been able to get through all these stages without the Master 2 course that Ms. Robin accepted me into over two years ago. "
